John Hoyland (1934-2011) was one of the leading British painters of his generation. Hoyland preferred not to be known as an abstract painter, he felt it too calculating in a term. He emerged at the forefront of the abstract movement in Britain in the early 1960’s and remained an energetic and innovative force within the field, until his death in 2011.
Jeff Lowe
Internationally acclaimed sculptor Jeff Lowe came to prominence in 1974 with his first one man show in London’s Cork Street. Lowe represented Britain at the Paris Biennale and has played a major role in advancing abstract sculpture.
