Born in 1977, the French artist Auguste hails from the famous and beautiful region of Bordeaux, France.
Although he studied subjects other than fine arts, Auguste has always felt drawn to and compelled by the art world. He eventually followed his passion for the visual arts, finding his unique artistic vision and voice, and is now known for his colorful, contemporary works inspired by Pop Art that evoke nostalgia.
Auguste calls his body of work “Generations,” as his pieces revolve around a central theme: pop culture icons of the past. Evoking memories of bygone eras, his works depict celebrities, superheroes, and other iconic figures, alongside American and French references, to offer the viewer a nostalgic glimpse into times gone by.
Working with a variety of materials, Auguste uses an unconventional medium such as aluminum, along with digital collage, mixed media, and acrylic paint, and applies automotive clear coat to give his works a glossy, modern finish. He places great importance on form and contour.
Auguste’s works are part of collections around the world. They are also part of Leonardo DiCaprio’s important collection.
